CMS1025V EDFA card as part of CMS1025V product family, is a smart and plug-in card for CMS1025V series 1/2/5U chassis, max output is able to be 20dBm. The amplifier can be customer built to meet the specific requirement, for single wavelength or multi-wave (WDM) applications.Via chassis management card(NMU), EDFA can be managed by GUI based network management, SNMP and REST API.

Application Example - Fiber Extension

Combining EDFA card and other line cards, CMS1025V provides a simple and elegant solution for fiber extension, including for 850/1310 nm client signals. As below, using CMS1025V-I-2U chassis, with OTU200G-C card, 850/1310nm 100G Ethernet signal can be aggregated and converted to standard DWDM coherent 200Gbps traffic, use MDU card for DWDM MUX, then fed to Booster EDFA card to boost the optical signal to trunk fiber. In the receiver side, use Pre-EDFA to amplify the optical signal from trunk fiber before DWDM DEMUX. This solution can support huge bandwidths traffic between data centers. With coherent technology, the distance between data center can be extended to support most of data centers applications.
